San Carlo Theatre has gained for six times the\u00a0Abbiati Prize,\u00a0<\/em>the most important Italian award for the opera.<\/p>\n

Here \u00a0the works awarded:
\n– 2002,\u00a0Konigskinder\u00a0<\/em>by \u00a0Engelbert Humperdick, with the direction of Paul Curran, cionductor Jeffrey Tate. It gained the prize as the best performance of the year;<\/p>\n

– 2003\u00a0Don Giovanni<\/em>\u00a0by Mozart, directed by Mario Martone\u00a0gained the prize for the best singer, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo;<\/p>\n

– 2004\u00a0Elektra<\/em>\u00a0by Richard Strauss, conducted by Gabriele Ferro and directed by\u00a0Klaus Michael Gruber and scenes and costumes by Anselm Kiefer. It gained the prize as the best performance of the year;<\/p>\n

– 2005\u00a0Tristan und Isolde\u00a0<\/em>by Richard Wagner gained the prize for the scenes and costumes by\u00a0Ezio Frigerio and Franca Squarciapino; The same year \u00a0Die Walk\u00fcre\u00a0<\/em>by\u00a0Wagnerwas awarded for the scenes by Giulio Paolini and the costumes by Giovanna Buzzi;<\/p>\n

– \u00a02012\u00a0Cavalleria Rusticana<\/em>\u00a0gained the sixth San Carlo’s\u00a0Abbiati\u00a0<\/em>for the scenes by Sergio Tramonti.<\/p>\n
